circa 1883??

This recently discovered photo is rumored to be visual proof of pickleball’s place in human endeavors… The photo, circa 1883, is of America’s first intercollegiate pickleball league at the College of William and Mary. In the lower right sits Walter Wright, the father of Wilbur and Orville. It was Walter’s personal study of the spin-serve’s aerodynamics that inspired his future sons to prove the possibility of air flight. History can be fascinating, yes?

Our history

Here at “Pickles & Bricks”, we are committed to bringing interested players into this emerging new sport sweeping the nation. We began modestly introducing fellow NYC real estate contacts with introductory tutorials. It quickly took off, and now we have a regular weekly get-together series of lessons and games in Lower Manhattan.

Your Pickleball Clinic

We’re available for group or individual clinics and tutorials. Reach out to learn about how we can get you ready for play this season.

While attending our retreat, you’ll be introduced to the basics of Pickleball, from the rules of the game to technical swing skills to help you get onto the court with your more advanced friends.

We’ll conduct on-court clinics, class-room instruction, and review open play to get you to advance your daily effectiveness.

Additionally, we’ll introduce tactical strategies that will give you the “edge” when you get back home to your local courts. You’ll finally be able to challenge your cousin, Gertrude. We can’t promise you’ll win, but you’ll both have a smile on your faces.

Remember the old saying: “There’s no crying in Pickleball!!”

Why not join one of our regular ‘first-timer, never played before introductory beginner pickleball sessions’? No racquet sports experience is required. It’s simple and easy to learn – and you’ll be playing in minutes!
